Until they start to hurt, we usually don’t think much about our feet and ankles. However, once we do have a problem, they have our full attention. Learn more about common foot and ankle conditions.
Foot and Ankle Evaluation

If you are having foot or ankle problems, you’ve come to the right place. At Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Magur, our foot and ankle specialist, is pleased to provide comprehensive management of all foot and ankle conditions. Appropriate evaluation typically includes:
- Thorough history
- Physical examination
- X-rays (when indicated)
- Appropriate advanced imaging studies, (e.g. MRI or CT scan)
Foot and Ankle Treatment
After initial evaluation, your doctor will determine the appropriate course of treatment. Dr. Magur focuses on conservative management for foot and ankle problems, when feasible. Common conservative treatment measures include shoewear modifications and orthotics, medication, physical therapy and home exercise programs, and injections. If Dr. Magur recommends surgery, he will explain everything you need to know. We provide handouts to all patients on foot and ankle surgery: what to expect, how to prepare and how to schedule.
